Howdy! #GMTK 2026

This game is all about COUNTING DOWN THE SECONDS before shootout...

Test your reflexes in a simple dueling game. In training mode, you can learn how to play while the timer remains visible. During a duel, the timer is hidden, so you will have to count the seconds yourself. Do not press any action key during the first five seconds (not even to load or cock your gun) or you will be disqualified. Once the five seconds have passed, draw and shoot as quickly as you can!

You can sign in via itch.io to join the leaderboard!

Being disqualified or losing a sudden-death duel will remove you from the leaderboard! Challenge one of the top players and beat their reaction time to take their place.  They won’t be removed from the leaderboard, they'll simply move down one position.

From the authors:

Sadly, we did not have much time to work on the game. Our initial idea was different, but we quickly ran out of time. Creating a 3D game turned out to be much more difficult than we had anticipated, while our other ideas were too ambitious. Instead, we decided to challenge ourselves by trying something new. The developer experimented with networking and authentication, while the designer explored 2D animations and further improved drawing.

Despite the simplicity of the game, we put a lot of effort into creating it. We hope you have some fun!
and that our netcode survives at least for a few weeks...

very cool art and concept, the only thing I would have wanted is just to know when exactly the timer starts, but other than that it's super cool

Fair point!

It generally starts as soon as you spawn. That said, from a UX perspective, your feedback is totally valid. Thank you!
